Living Your Life to the Fullest
We all knew the word "YOLO" or you only live once and that life is tragically short. It’s easy to look at people who are in seventh heaven and assume they don’t understand what pain you are feeling. The older you get, the more you realize that happiness really takes time and effort. People who smile in public have been through every bit as much as the people who are drowning with emotions, crying, frowning etc., only that they just have the courage and strength to smile through it anyway. Once Mark Twain said "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." So now, if you would ask yourself, how do you make sure you’re living life to the fullest?
Remember to decide what’s important to you. It doesn’t matter what it really is. Don’t do what other people force you to do. Don’t settle your values. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t push yourself to do it. Don’t compromise your internal code of ethics. Life doesn’t work like a movie, it’s filled with gray areas. Always trust your instincts. Your parents, friends, community, and society, in general, all have their ideas and opinions, but at the end of the day, you’re the only person who will be around for every moment of your life, no one but yourself will be in charge of whatever decisions you are putting yourself into. Do what you know makes you happy and everything else will fall into place.
Tell people you love them. People will always appreciate hearing you love them. If you have a romantic interest in someone, go for it, fight for it. Remember, you have nothing to lose but more to give.
Always live in the present. Your past is important to learn from it. Your future is important to work towards to because at the end of the day the only thing that exists outside of your head is the present. So think about your past and future, but only dwell with the present. Know that every winner loses, but not every loser wins. Successful people don’t start out successful, but what makes them successful is that they keep pushing over and over again through failure.
Remember to keep your mind always open.
Just because you’re right about something doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways to look at it.
Take time to evaluate yourself.
Because the time you are living your life to the fullest, you learn everything, you learn from it.
